Guilty Pleasures and Giveaway #7

DON'T FORGET TO CHECK OUT THE PAST WEEK'S GIVEAWAYS LISTED AT THE LINK ABOVE!!

********************************

I have my guilty pleasures.  I'll admit it....I enjoy some good reality TV every now and then. Although, recently, since My Marine has been gone....I get carte blanche with the remote and the DVR.  If it's worth watching, I'll DVR it.

For awhile there it was The Bachelor.  A train wreck that I couldn't turn away from.  I am anxiously awaiting The Bachelorette with Ali.  DVR Worthy?  At least for the first few episodes.

After the Bachelor came Dancing With the Stars.  Not every season sucks me in.  This season is no different.  I'll watch as I flip through other shows.  I really got turned off by Kate Gosselin's constant whining, Ocho Cinco's bravado, Pamela Anderson's boobs, and Jake's constant teary eyed declaration of love for Vienna.  (Gag!)  DVR Worthy?  Not.

Next comes American Idol.  I will admit that I LOVE American Idol.  As someone who appreciates music, this is one show where I love seeing all the raw talent.  This season however is one huge yawn.  I initially had this one set to DVR for every audition and the first few episodes.  But lately, I'm just really disappointed with this show in general.  I need me some Adam Lambert or Daughtry.  DVR Worthy?  Not anymore.

And finally, The Marriage Ref.  If you haven't seen this show, you really should watch it.  It's a cross between Divorce Court, Seinfeld, and anything on Comedy Central.  Couples plead their case (which could be anything from a cigar store Indian in the dining room to who cooks dinner) before a panel of celebrity judges.  Some of the panel has included Jerry Seinfeld, Donald Trump, Alec Baldwin, and Sarah Silverman.  My Marine and I watch this show every week and have never been disappointed.  Watch it once and you won't be either.  DVR Worthy?  4 thumbs up!!  (My two, and hubby's two!)

But the bottom line is we all have our guilty pleasures.  For some it's chocolate, books, crafts, purses, shoes, or jewelry.

Which brings me to Giveaway #7!

Guilty pleasure? A trip to Target! Seriously, just wanted to stop by and wish you a Happy Mother's Day Jennifer!

My guilty pleasure? It needs to be that ice cold beer right after you know the kids are sound asleep for the night. There is something so relaxing about that. It doesn't have to be alcoholic, but it needs to be cold. Sometimes, during the day, when I stand with my head in the fridge while slicing bread, pouring milk while asking for preferred bread spread, trying not to step on any one or any thing, that I just look at it. Pretty, cold, single beer waiting for me as a present to reward myself with at the end of the day. It feels so good to be reminded that "me-time" will come, eventually, and that I may reward myself with that beer if I chose to :)

Hi Jennifer! First of all, I want to thank you for visiting me and leaving a sweet message. Then I want to thank your husband for serving our country. Finally, I like the name of your blog and the background too!

My guilty pleasure? Can I have more than one? I love to get involved in a good book. I am happy when I'm at home decorating, working in the garden, blogging, cooking and watching a movie I have seen at least one hundred times. I love my dog Bentley, my husband, riding horses and just being happy. Do I feel guilty about any of this ... not a bit!

Love,
Susan and Bentley

Oh, I love me some trashy reality t.v. too :). And I completely agree on American Idol - couldn't watch this year. My guiltiest pleasure? The Bad Girl's Club on Oxygen... oh, and I also watched Rock of Love - Tour Bus. Terrible. Just awful. Watched the whole thing... Love this blog!

Oh you know mine, after my confession at Easter - Ben & Jerry's and Cadbury mini-eggs. Totally agree on the shows - I know I will watch the new bachelorette but no longer watch Idol or Dancing With The Stars. My favorite shows are The Good Wife, Greys Anatomy, Private Practice, Desperate Housewives, Brothers and Sisters and Glee. Right now that's about all I watch but that's plenty of non-reality!

My guilty pleasure is a chilled glass of wine after the kids are in bed. And it's even better if it happens to be Thursday night and Grey's Anatomy is on!!

Did you see Jake crying when he got booted from DWTS? I had to laugh. I know he was just being sincere but it seemed kind of silly!
