Random Thoughts - Monday Edition

Something no wife wants to hear from her husband when he comes home from work...."Honey, I got to blow up a truck today!!"  It seems that My Marine was training with the Special Forces again last week and they let him play with some of their "toys" -- including the the grenade launcher.  I don't know what I should be more worried about -- the fact that he's blowing up trucks or the gleam in his eye when he told me about it.

I really hate inconsiderate people.  On Friday, I was running errands and wanted to park my car.  There was this jackass just parked in front of the store, blocking traffic my way....no blinkers, nothing.  Just sitting there.  There was a parking space right in front of him, but he just had to sit there.  So I pulled up on his bumper and blew my horn.  He waved me on.  I couldn't back up and couldn't go around him because there were cars coming the other way.  So I just sat there and layed on my horn.  Finally I was able to go around him and pulled into a space -- and watched as someone came out of the store carrying a Starbucks and got into this car.  It took so much restraint for me not to throw rocks at that car.

My Marine has an addiction -- and it's a bad one.  He's addicted to lip balm.  And it drives me up a wall.  He's using it constantly.  I've got lip balm tubes everywhere in my house and I can't tell you how many times lip balm has gone through my washer and/or dryer.  The kicker is that he slathers it on before going to bed and then wants to kiss me goodnight.  It's like kissing a candlestick. 

Pigeons are stupid birds, but they make me laugh.  I was driving down my street the other day and there was this pigeon crossing the street.  Just moseying along.  As I got closer, the pigeon sped up too.  Have you ever seen a pigeon run?  It made me laugh.  But then I wondered, why didn't he just get up and fly away instead of running across the street.  Again -- stupid birds.
