Tot School - Week 1 (25 months)
>> Thursday, August 26, 2010
I've been so excited to get started with Tot School with Nudgie! I've been having a blast putting together lesson plans, creating accessories, and organizing.
We didn't do too many structured activities this week. It was a hectic week with My Marine being gone for most of the week, big sister, Nani, starting Kindergarten, and adjusting to new schedules overall. But we still found time to do some activities!
We started off the week with these milk bottle cap letters that I made.
Nudgie dove in right away with these and loved laying the letters out on a tray.
And when she got bored with that, she just stacked them all up!
We moved on to exploring objects with the magnifying glass. I couldn't pry this out of her hands!
Later in the week, we worked on fine motor skills with the tweezers, pom poms and different containers to put them in. We found that she really enjoys this activity a lot -- picking this one first to play with when given a choice.
For a challenge, she tried putting them into a sippy cup without the lid - and did very well!
We played with our felt shapes
Learned about the letter "B" and the color blue
Colored
Stacked
And played dress up!
Overall - I think it was a pretty good week.....
Even Zoja was exhausted!

Seriously, if you could just keep posting this stuff then I could follow you a week behind ;) I've started to think about real activities like this to get my son thinking, learning how to concentrate on structured activities and learn some things this winter. It's tough to find things that are just his (brain) size! I LOVE the poms poms. We're definitely adding that one to our list!
What a charming blog with great learning ideas for little ones! Loved the last shot of the German Shepherd; we have a GSD as well and they hold a special place in our hearts. Oh, and yes, the photo in the stocks was in Williamsburg. Good eyes!
Found you through the HOTM blog hop. Just wanted to say that crew chiefs rock... but I am slightly biased.
Enjoy the new school year and many blessings!
What an adorable set of photos. I think the magnifying glass is my favorite!
I love all the neat projects you are doing with your little ones.

So cute! Did you make her magnettic felt board? That does flip over right? I want one!!
So much joy in the faces in the dress up pictures! The magnifying glass photo with her face squashed up is a hoot =)
Great Week!!! My daughter loves dress up too. I tried tweezer with my little one but it was too difficult I may have to try tongs instead.

Hi Jennifer,
I finally made it over to your blog to write something! I'm so glad you joined my blog. I'm excited about Tot School this year and it looks like you and your daughter are too :) I'm working on phasing in some organized activities, but a lot of what we do is spontaneous too. Thanks for the link to Tiny Tag Alongs too!
