100th Post & A Giveaway!
>> Wednesday, February 10, 2010
This is my 100th post!! Since I started blogging last spring, 100 posts seemed like such a long way off -- but almost a year later, here it is!
So, to celebrate my 100th post, I am doing a 100th post giveaway!
As some of you know, there are two things I love - reading and Starbucks. And in honor of my 100th post, I am giving away a $10 gift card to Starbucks and one of my favorite mommy books - "Taking Care of the Me in Mommy" by Lisa Whelchel. It's a great book that reminds us that it is ok to take a little time for ourselves!
There's lots of chances to win!!! For a chance to win the $10 Starbucks card and a copy of "Taking Care of the Me in Mommy" (contest ends 2/20):
1. Leave a comment about what you like about my blog
2. Leave a comment telling me if there's anything I could do to improve my blog.
2. Leave a comment about what your favorite Starbucks drink is
3. Leave a comment about why you'd like to read this book.
4. Leave a comment telling me if you watched "The Facts of Life" as a kid
5. Follow me on Twitter (booklover1212) and twitter about this giveaway. Provide me a link to your Tweet in your comment.
6. Follow me and leave a comment telling me (or if you already follow, leave me a comment)
7. Mention this giveaway on your blog and provide me with the link.
Please be sure to leave me a way to get in touch with you if your contact information is not in your profile!
Good luck!!

Oh I was a big time watcher of the Facts Of Life. Watched from the beginning when even Molly Ringwald was on. (ok I was a teen ager then).

When it comes to Sarbucks I have a few drinks and they both involve the chai flavor. There was a Berry Chai and now there is an Apple Chai.
YUM

I love how you are so *real* in your blog. When things aren't going well, when you're scared, you let it out. You don't try to pretend to be a perfect person.

I don't drink coffee, and I don't much care for Starbucks. But my husband (who passed away almost 2 years ago) and his mother used to love Starbucks. Their gifts to each other would always be SB gift cards. So if I won, I would send the gift card to my mother in law so she could go and remember him.
I'd love to read this book because it's hard to remember to take care of the mommy in me!!! It's easy to get caught up with the kids. I have to constatnyl remind myself that I have to take care of ME in order to be able to take care of them!! I have 5 children and stepchildren, all age 5 and under!
Annnnd, I follow your blog :o)
I love the song you have playing for background music. And I love your picture slideshows. Your girls are adorable!!
how am i not following you on twitter? i thought we had that sorted out ages ago. OKAY so i am your newest follower (holla). I love your blog because you give me the inspiration to one day be a semi-good SAHM. the only thing i would improve would be to provide more pictures of YOU i'm just curious like that. i would like to read the book because i LOVE books and would somehow like to find time to read them again and i'm sure this book would have pointers on how to do that ;) i did watch the facts of life as a kid and loved the fact that there was a jennifer on the show.
whew!! its good to be back reading other people's blogs for a change xoxo
oh right starbucks!! carmel machiatto baby!!
I already follow you :)
As of right now I do not have a favorite Starbucks drink, they are all so good!!
I watched the facts of life a lot as a kid, loved it!!
I love how real your blog is. You tell it how it is.
Gurlll, of course I already follow you:)
Yes, I was a Facts of Life girl!! I had part of the lyrics in one of my posts not long ago. When ya get 'em in your head they don't want to come out:)
My SIL always orders for me (cause she goes all the time and knows the best stuff) Its some kind of lowfat vanilla mocha or something like that...all I know is it's gooood!
Following from friday follow (yes...I'm late).
Not a coffee drinker but LOVE Starbucks hot chocolate.
What I like about your blog - the little girls on your header, because they remind me of the Holly Hobbie stuff I had in the 70's...your slide show pics esp. the one with her hair sticking up - so cute!....I like the way your blog is laid out - not cluttered....and I love your posts, you write about things we can relate to:)
I would read this book to hopefully remind me to take care of me too!! I forget to do that - a lot!
Oh how I would LOVE some Starbucks today! I'd have to drive half an hour to get to one, though!! My favorite drink when I need caffeine is a white mocha marble macchiato, and if I'm going caffeine free, it's gotta be the caramel apple spice :)
You know how I love your blog - I can't think of a single thing to make it better :)
Love your blog, makes me laugh and sometimes cry!
and I'm a follower of your blog.

I like that you have a good variety of topics. It is not all about the kids or crafts...it's real...and you allow us to know YOU too!
You're going to hate me...but you asked...
I don't like music on blogs. But since so many have music, I just keep my mute on. The reason I don't care for music on blogs is bc I am surprised when I click on it...and hear it.
Sorry...but I bet lots like it, and I just thought I'd tell you my only thought on changes.
I don't "do" Starbucks, so if I won, you could give me the book and share the card with another great reader (or maybe you could recommend a non coffee-type drink??)
Lisa Whelchel is very real and I like her as a speaker...and think this book would just be a good, all-around fit for me. I need to put it on my to read list!
I certainly did watch! Jo was my favorite...you know, tough girl and all that!
Congratulations on your 100th post!! Yeah! I don't even remember how I found you (maybe it was from the We Heart Art giveaway from awhile back??) but I'm so glad I did. I've enjoyed your blog so much!!
One of the reasons why I love your blog is that you are real, you are honest and I admire how strong you are. Many of your posts have inspired me to be a better mother...and it's comforting knowing that there's someone else out there going through the same parenting issues I'm going through.
I thought when you mentioned "Lisa Welchel" that it was the girl from Facts of Life but I wasn't sure. I used to love that show...I wish there were re-runs of it.
I love your blog. I like that you are real and honest. I love how you adore your Marine and your little girls.
You could improve your blog by removing the word verification in the comment section - just a pain sometimes.
My favorite Starbucks drink is A Grande White Choc Mocha. However, that has way too many points at the moment, so I get a Grande Skinny Carmel latte or a Grande Skinny Cinnamon Dulce latte with 2 pumps White Choc Mocha, thanks to your advice.
I would love to read the book because I have within the last 5 months come to realize I have lost alot of me over the last 19 years and I'm not getting older and I like me back thank you very much.
I LOVED, yes LOVED, The Facts of Life as a kid. I watched it from the very first season all the way to the end. I wanted to be Blair, but I was much more of a Jo in real life.
I follow your blog.
i like your blog because you're real, and not afraid to tell what's on your heart
no improvements needed friend!

I don't know if you entered the Holey Donuts giveaway or not, but if you could check out this post and do so for my blog, it would mean a TON for my family and you can enter for the book afterwards too if you wish (White Cat by Holly Black ARC)!:

That's sweet of you to give something away in honor of all the work and typing you've done. Someone should give you a book and a trip to Starbucks!;o) I enjoyed reading your "All I wanted was a glass of wine" post the other day. Oh how I know that feeling. I've finally gotten the hang of what wines I like and don't like. Only sweet reds or fruity for me! I haven't encountered the plastic cork yet, but I'll be prepared with a strong handsome husband when I do!

I love the sincerity of your posts + all the photos you post!
I'd say keep your blog the way it is. Your posts really reflect who you are.

I do not think you need to improve anything about your blog--it is beautiful the way it is!
My fav Starbucks drink is Strawberries and Vanilla!
I would like to read this book because I am a mom and as a mother I think that we are all confused at times about what we are supposed to do. These kids did not come with instruction manuals and we just try our best. I love books about motherhood and would love to share with my mommy groups
Ha ha ha I STILL watch the Facts of Life!!
I love all the pink on your blog, it is afterall the BEST color!
Hmmm if I had to chose anything at Starbucks it would have to bee chai tea, their coffee is too strong for me.
I love Lisa Whelchel, loved her in The Facts of Life
p.s. I have a giveaway that your girls might enjoy.....
love your blog and the variety that it has!
